Product Features
Dura Ace R9200 – Never Compromise
The Science of Speed. Speed was key to the development of this new-generation 12-speed road bike series. Several years of research have resulted in innovations that make the Shimano Dura Ace R9200 even faster. Every component has been revised, improved and optimised to enable decisive seconds of advantage, whether breaking away from the peloton or in the sprint to the finish on the Champs-Élysées.
The electronic Di2 components are based on Wireless technology, where it is important to make gear changes faster and more reliable. Trouble-free gear changes are also the aim of the Hyperglide+ system, already known in the MTB segment, designed to bring out the maximum performance and full potential of every racer.
The Shimano Dura Ace FC-R9200 crank fulfills two important tasks: It converts pedal power into propulsion and enables extremely fast and precise gear shifting. This is not only due to the lightweight crank arms made using Hollowtech II technology, but also to the uniquely designed chainrings featuring a Hollowglide structure, which enable both fast and smooth gear shifting. The result is responsive acceleration from any speed, enabling the 2x12-speed crankset to reach the absolute top position.
52-36T tooth chainrings are available.
Hollowtech II
The guiding principle of Shimano's Hollowtech II technology is the perfect balance between stiffness, stability, weight and rotational efficiency. The aim was to produce a crank that minimizes the effort required for propulsion and provides more efficient power transfer.
A special forging process enables the production of extremely lightweight crank arms that guarantee maximum rigidity. The rigid connection of the right arm to the bottom bracket axle and the outer bearing also serve an optimum relationship between rigidity and low weight.
