With the M7100 SLX crank, Shimano is taking a big step forward in many ways. The most striking innovation: The M7100 is designed for direct mount chainrings. Thanks to the special DCE+ Narrow Wide profile of the teeth and the Hyperglide+ chainring design, the 52-millimeter offset of the chainrings is suitable for both BOOST and standard rear hubs. Direct mount chainrings with 30 to 34 teeth are available.
When assembling the crank, Shimano continues to rely on its proven Hollowtech-2 technology with a 24mm crankshaft. By optimizing the design of the current generation cold-forged aluminum cranks, further weight savings can be achieved while simultaneously increasing rigidity.
