Shimano S-PHYRE SH-RC903 Road Shoe ESHRC903MCW01S

Micro-adjustment in two directions with dual BOA Li2

Each shoe’s two BOA Li2 dials allow separate adjustment of tightness in different areas. Thanks to incremental tightening and loosening, you can make fine adjustments without fully opening the system. The low-profile cross-lacing design grips the forefoot.

Carbon base with hardness index 12

The carbon fiber composite sole limits flex under pedal pressure, enhancing power transfer. The integrated design of the low-profile midsole and upper helps keep the foot stable and balanced.

Heel support that limits torsion

The anti-twist heel structure helps restrict unnecessary heel movement during hard accelerations and sprints. It keeps the foot balanced inside the shoe, supporting controlled pedal connection under high effort.

360° wrapping microfiber upper structure

Breathable microfiber synthetic leather wraps around the foot with the Surround Wrapping design. The Shimano DYNALAST last defines foot positioning for cycling, while the BOA system adjusts the tightness on this structure.

Pedal and cleat compatibility

RC903 is designed for three-bolt SPD-SL road-type cleats. Two-bolt SPD mountain bike cleats do not attach directly to the base. The cleat is the connecting piece that locks the shoe to the pedal.

The cleat you use should be compatible with both your shoe's attachment and your pedal. Have the cleat position adjusted based on your riding posture; follow the manufacturer instructions during installation.

Use and maintenance

Before the first ride, practice clipping in and out of the pedal in a controlled environment. Regularly check the cleat position, mounting bolts, and wear.

Do not tighten the BOA system on your foot to the point of uncomfortable pressure. For cleaning, drying, and maintenance of the closure system, follow the product instructions from Shimano and BOA.
