Shimano SH-TR501 white triathlon cycling shoes are designed for easy wearing when transitioning from swimming to cycling and provide foot support throughout the ride. Their wide opening upper, practical Velcro closure, and quick-drying mesh panels combine to meet the specific needs of triathletes.

Its soft inner lining is designed for use without socks. This standard-fit model can be used in triathlon races and cycling training; it is not a shoe intended for the running stage.

From the transition area to the cycling stage

T1 closure and easy-grip heel ring

Wide T1 Velcro strap and extra-wide entry opening make it easy to put on and take off the shoe. The asymmetrical heel tab provides a grip point to pull the shoe on. The separate front strap lets you adjust tightness over the foot.

Air circulation and quick drying

Breathable 3D mesh supports air circulation around the foot and helps moisture escape. The soft inner lining ensures comfort for barefoot rides. It's recommended to try your socked or barefoot setup in training before using it in a race.

Fiberglass reinforced sole

The fiberglass reinforcement in the nylon sole provides a rigid structure supporting the foot during pedaling. The combination of a low-profile midsole and seamless upper helps maintain a balanced foot position. The Shimano sole stiffness index is 6.

Pedal and saddle compatibility

SH-TR501 features a three-bolt SPD-SL road type cleat attachment. The cleat is the connecting part that locks the shoe to the pedal. The chosen cleat must be compatible with both the shoe sole and the pedal system used.

Set the saddle position according to your riding posture. Before your first ride, practice clipping in and out of the pedals using a stable support; tighten the connection bolts following the manufacturer's torque specifications.

Size selection

Compare your foot length with the Shimano size chart. When between two sizes, Shimano recommends choosing the larger size; foot width and heel grip should also be considered.

Try the shoe as you would use it in a race, with or without socks. Do not try to compensate for choosing the wrong size by tightening the Velcro straps excessively.
